There is created an Aberdeen Board of Museum and History, consisting of eight members who shall be appointed by the mayor and confirmed by the city council. One of the board members shall be an Aberdeen City Councilman. The term of the council member shall be for one year ending on the second Monday in January. The term of office of the other members of the board shall be three years, terminating on the second Monday in January of the appropriate year for the position. Members shall serve without compensation; provided, however, that they may be reimbursed for expenses necessarily incurred in the performance of their duties.
