Any person, or persons, firm or corporation, violating any of the provisions of this fire prevention code, or neglecting to comply with any order issued pursuant to any section hereof, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction shall forfeit, and pay a fine of not less than ten dollars ($10.00) nor more than one hundred dollars ($100.00) for each offense, and in addition thereto a fine of not more than twenty-five dollars ($25.00) for each day that said violation is permitted to exist beyond a reasonable period after notice has been served as provided in said section, and in default of payment shall be imprisoned in the city jail not to exceed thirty (30) days for each offense.
