Any person wilfully violating any of the provisions of this chapter shall upon conviction thereof, pay a fine of not less than one dollar ($1.00) nor more than fifty dollars ($50.00) and costs of prosecution, and in default of the payment of said fine and costs shall be committed to the city jail until such fine and costs are paid, not exceeding thirty (30) days.
