An extension of time for compliance with an order may be granted by the building official upon receipt of a written request filed with the building official by any party affected by the order not later than seven (7) days prior to the date set for compliance in the order. Any extension granted shall be in writing, and shall be posted in a place on the property conspicuous to persons entering the structure and if practical conspicuous from an abutting public right-of-way. Extensions shall not be subject to appeal. The building official may, without a written request, grant an extension of time if in the building official's opinion such an extension is warranted.
