2.20.010 Time of meetings.
The city council shall hold its regular meetings in the third floor council chambers at City Hall located at 200 East Market Street on the second, fourth, and fifth Wednesday evening of each month, commencing in regular session at the hour of 6:30 p.m. If the Wednesday shall fall on December 24th or December 31st, the council shall hold its regular meetings on the Tuesday immediately preceding such Wednesday. Each regular meeting shall have a consent agenda. Each regular meeting shall not last longer than two (2) hours unless there is a motion to extend the regular meeting. Nothing herein shall be interpreted as restricting the city council’s authority to cancel regular meetings or call special meetings.
Prior to the adoption of 6494 on 01/13/2010, Section 2.20.010 read as follows.
The city council shall hold its regular meetings on Wednesday evening of each week, commencing as in "Committee of the Whole" at the hour of 7:15 p.m. and reconvening in regular session as soon there after as the city council may determine, at City Hall located at 200 East Market Street, which is the chief municipal building of the city of Aberdeen. If the Wednesday shall fall on December 24th or December 31st, the council shall hold its regular meetings on the Tuesday immediately preceding such Wednesday. Nothing herein shall require the city council to meet more frequently than every two weeks. The city council may, by motion at a regular or special meeting, adopt a less frequent meeting schedule or schedule informal city council workshops in place of regular meetings; provided, however, that regular meetings shall be held not less frequently than every two weeks. Until further notice, the city council shall hold its regular meetings on Wednesday evening of each week, commencing as in "Committee of the Whole" at the hour of 7:15 p.m. and reconvening in regular session at 8:00 p.m., at City Hall located at 200 East Market Street, which is the chief municipal building of the city of Aberdeen; provided, however, that if the Wednesday shall fall on December 24th or December 31st, the council shall hold its regular meetings on the Tuesday immediately preceding such Wednesday.
