The effective date of the ordinance codified in this chapter shall be January 14, 1977, except in the case of the bond for the city comptroller, in which case the current bond of three thousand dollars ($3,000.00) shall apply until the expiration of the existing bond or the election or appointment of another individual for the office of city comptroller, whichever occurs first.
