Except as hereinafter provided, no person shall discharge or cause or permit to be discharged any of the following described water or wastes to any sanitary sewer:

A. High Temperature Wastes. Any liquor or vapor having a temperature higher than sixty-five (65) degrees Celsius.

B. Flammable or Explosive Wastes. Any gasoline, oils, paint, benzine, naphtha, fuel oil, or other flammable or explosive liquid, solid or gas.

C. Obstructive Wastes. Any ashes, cinders, sand, mud, straw, shavings, metal, glass, rags, feathers, tar, plastics, wood, manure, or any other solid or viscous substance capable of causing obstructions to the flow in sewers or other interference with the proper operation of the city sewage system.

D. Toxic or Poisonous Substance. Any waters or waste containing a toxic or poisonous substance in sufficient quantity to injure or interfere with any sewage treatment process, constitutes a hazard to humans or animals, or creates any hazard in the receiving waters of the city sewage system.

E. pH Limitations. Any waters or wastes having a lower than 6.0 or higher than 9.0 or having any other corrosive property capable of causing damage or hazard to structures, equipment, and personnel of the sewage works.

F. Suspended Solids. Any waters or wastes containing suspended solids of such character and quantity that unusual attention or expense is required to handle such material at the sewage treatment plant, or is in excess of three hundred fifty (350) milligrams per liter.

G. Noxious Substance. Any noxious or malodorous gas or substance capable of creating a public nuisance, including the contents of septic tanks and cesspools, without written consent of the city.

H. Garbage. Any garbage that is not properly shredded garbage.

I. Paper and Plastic Products. Any paper and plastic products such as cups, dishes, napkins, and milk containers.

J. Greases. Any greases, (animal or vegetable) oils, or matter containing animal or vegetable grease or oil of any nature in excess of three hundred (300) milligrams per liter.

K. B.O.D. Any matter containing a five-day biochemical oxygen demand in excess of three hundred (300) milligrams per liter.

Prior to the adoption of 6325 on 07/10/2002, Section 13.52.390 read as follows.
