Unless another penalty is expressly provided by ordinance, the statutes adopted by reference in the MTO, or by Chapters 46.20, 46.61, or 46.63 RCW, any person who is convicted of violating or failing to comply with any of the provisions of AMC Title 10 is guilty of a misdemeanor.

Prior to the adoption of 6331 on 08/28/2002, Section 10.04.070 read as follows.

It is unlawful to operate any vehicle in excess of twenty (20) miles per hour in the following school zones and crossings:

A. When appropriate "When Flashing" indicators are activated at the following intersections:

1. West Boulevard at Cushing Street;

2. "B" Street at Cleveland Street;

3. Broadway at Fourth Street; and

4. Sumner Street at Scammell Street.

B. On Scammell Street at Cherry Street when children are present and when posted with a "When Children are Present" sign according to the definition in Section 7B-12 of the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices as adopted by Washington State.

C. Between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. on school days on the following streets:

1. Third Street between "G" and "I" Streets;

2. "I" Street between Third and Fifth Streets;

3. Fifth Street between "I" and "H" Streets;

4. "H" Street between Fifth and Fourth Streets;

5. Fourth Street between "H" and "G" Streets; and

6. "G" Street between Fifth and Third Streets.

D. Between the hours of 8:00 and 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 and 3:00 p.m. on school days on Simpson Avenue at Scammell Street. (Prior code § 9.02.175)

It is unlawful to operate any vehicle in excess of twenty (20) miles per hour in the following school zones and crossings:
